They say if you love your job you’ll never work a day in your life and because I love connecting with empowering women it only seemed appropriate to drop into Auguste whilst on my honeymoon in Byron Bay and say hello to the angels behind the scenes during our holiday, and I couldn’t be more happier that I did as I got to find out first hand why Auguste is so much more then just a clothing label!
I was first introduced to this label by the wonderful world of Instagram as a friend of mine had been spotting their frocks in a few photo shoots. The soft and relaxed boho vibe quickly grabbed my attention and before I knew it I was on the Auguste website adding as much as I could get my hands on to my shopping cart!
How it all began
Ebony Eagles is a Byron Bay native who’s been a part of the Australian fashion industry for over a decade.
Two years ago, her designs took a turn.
They became softer, more relaxed – drawing from her youth in the cultural melting pot of Byron Bay, and the 70’s nostalgia that feels as much a part of this town as sun and salt spray. And her designs suddenly felt effortless.
Soaking in her surroundings and drawing inspiration from shapes and patterns that felt natural to her, Auguste was born.
And since our beginnings, for Ebony, one thing was certain. She was creating for lifestyle, not for trends.
Brand Philosophy (A note from Ebony)
What I love about this brand is that we’re creating pieces that are worn over and over. It’s not about seasons and we don’t work to trends. There’s a sense of nostalgia in our pieces that I think will always be relevant.
Our pieces are crafted to be well loved and worn over and over. If you ever fall out of love with them, please pass them on so they can be loved again.
Clothing should collect memories – many, many memories. And that’s what we design for.
Every day, for 90 days, Auguste will be adopting a baby orangutan on behalf of an online customer.
Every adoption contribution is valued at $120 AUD and lasts for a year. Each lucky Auguste Community Member will receive a Borneo Orangutan Survival Australia Adoption pack and email updates on the progress of one of BOS Australia’s baby orangutans.
90 Days of Change will see Auguste collectively adopt (and assist in the rehabilitation of) these special creatures.
BOS AUSTRALIA ADOPTIONS
Orangutans are endangered and at risk of extinction in the wild. Hunting, the pet trade, trafficking and habitat destruction results in hundreds of orangutan deaths every year.
By adopting an orangutan cared for by Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia, you can take comfort that they are being cared for around-the-clock by dedicated ‘nannies’, who teach them everything they need to know for when it’s time to release them back into the wild in places not threatened by people.
